The details matter. Again, the details matter! Every element must be considered to allow the player to truly be immersed in the game. The ability to see the big picture and the end result allows a designer to avoid pitfalls and keep the project moving towards a unified goal.
Experience the thrill of game development with my interactive and engaging level designs. Dive into a world of creativity and innovation.
Flexibility, Adaptability, Communication and Vision are key traits in any good designer. The willingness and ability to pivot on the fly while working with a team of unique individuals leads to constant progress.
Game mechanics make or break a game. Striking a balance between mechanics and creating challenging ways to employ them is what makes playing any game exciting and rewarding.
Allow me to use my experience as a game designer to elevate your gameplay and turn your team's ideas into a reality with outside the box thinking.
Me on my most recent adventure on the coast of Nova Scotia. The beaches were a little cold as it was the end of October but I finally got to kneel in the ocean :).
Hey all and welcome to my webpage. If you made it this far you are probably looking to know a little more about me or you scrolled down too quickly but either way, this is the spot where I get to share a little about myself and my personal life with you.
Below will be a list of a few hobbies and interests that are dear and near to my heart and to spare you the tedium of reading more. In order of importance as best as I can.
Hobbies and Interests: Dungeon Master (DM/GM), Archery, Cycling, Camping/Adventuring, Level Design, Game Design, Voice Acting, Buying Dice (yes its a problem but it's under control), Collecting, Magic the Gathering, Warhammer 40k, Cooking, Gaming (all platforms, variety is the spice of life), and reading. It's not all my stuff but that's enough for you to get an idea of the things that make me, well, me.
I am often inspired by the great outdoors. I try to travel and see new things and get new experiences wherever I am. Walking or cycling is my favorite way to explore any new place, as well as canoeing or kayaking. There is just something calming about being in nature that helps to center me, and most of my best writing/brainstorming happens outdoors.
I have spent the lions share of my life to date working in construction in one trade or another and it has given me a strong foundation on which I have built the rest of my life (pun intended). I'm fortunate to have worked in so many places and with so many people from all over the world and I'll take a moment here to thanks them all for helping shape the person I am today.
The most interesting/dangerous thing I have done (those of you who are afraid of heights just go ahead and skip this part) is building towers for telecom companies. I spent most of my days working up in the sky giving me an amazing perspective of everything below and taking some risks that later in life seem more than a little foolish but hey, I'm still here.
